Hi folks,

Is anyone interested in helping out with a food booth at The New England
Folk Festival (NEFFA)? See the attached email.

This is a great group of people to work with - and if you volunteer at the
booth you get a fraction of the profits applied to a group of your choice
-- say, oh, Noho Squares. :)

What is NEFFA? It's a weekend long folk festival located in Mansfield,
MA. The weekend is "is a fabulous blend of dance, music, crafts, and food
from many lands. The 2007 Festival, to be held on April 20-22 2007 at
Mansfield (Mass.) High and Middle Schools, will be our 63nd annual
Festival." Even if you don't want to volunteer, it's worth considering
going to the festival.

Contact Chris Ricciotti if your interested in volunteering at their food
booth (Ricciotti at aol.com).

Subject: [WestMA-Announce] 2ND REQUEST NEFFA Food Booth Volunteers Needed
     [PLEASE READ]

Hello Fellow Dancers,

Sam Arfer and I need to make a decision by Saturday, February 24th, about
whether we will be moving forward with plans to do the NEFFA Food Booth again
this year. Much of this will depend on how much assistance we can get this year
to help spread out the work of what it take to pull the booth together.

Last year, I spend a month pulling together a menu plan and visiting stores
to do price comparisions on food we needed to help us keep our costs down.

I spent the 2 weeks before NEFFA doing most of the food shopping for the
booth, organizing all of this material and then bringing it all to NEFFA.

This year, if we are going to continue, I need assistance from people in a
number of ways. We need people who can assist us in buying the food at discount
warehouses and helping us to bring it to NEFFA.  I will be planning the menu
and the food needs, but we really do need assistance picking up these supplies.
It's a lot of work for one person.

We also need someone willing to help coordinate the volunteers for the booth.
Robert Coren did this last year has a pretty accurate account of this and can
help you get started with this process.  We also need help with food prep,
particularly on Friday, and of course, most importantly, volunteers staffing the
booth at NEFFA.

We need 1 to 2 people who can assist us as booth managers.  Both Sam Arfer
and myself are two of these individuals.  We need at least one or two more who
can help with on site coordintation over the NEFFA weekend.  If you would like
to consider being one of these folks, please reply to this email to let me
know.

So far, I've heard from very few people who would be willing to take on some
of these more intensive pieces of what it take to pull the food booth together
- so this is my 2nd request to try to get assistance from our community to
help raise some much needed money for our dances.

I'm going to be on vacation until Wednesday, February 21st. Please give this
some careful consideration, and if you can help, check out the list below,
and let us know what you can do. Please consider taking on one of the first
three responsibilities on the list. When I return on February 21st, I will tally
up the responses, and if we get enough volunteer help, we will move forward
with the food booth at NEFFA this year. It's for a great cause, and it will
help us to earn some much needed money for our local gender-free dances!

NEFFA FOOD BOOTH NEEDS:
2- Food Booth Assistant Managers
3 to 4 - People with Warehouse Discounts cards to buy food supplies needed
for the booth.
1 to 2 -Volunteer Coordinators
24-28 NEFFA Volunteers to help staff the booth, serving food, taking money,
etc.

Thanks all!

Sincerely,

Chris Ricciotti
